Thursday, December 31st, 2009

A lot of ribs!

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Uncle Yiwu bought two big  bags of ribs few days ago. The ribs are very large, maybe 10 lbs each. Obviously, it’s hard to cook. Grandma have Uncle Yiwei cut the big ribs into pieces. And I’m going to do him a favour.

We start in the basement. Uncle Yiwei spread the ground with some newspaper to keep clean. He uses a cleaver to chop the rib, then puts the small ribs chopped into the tub.

Dinner with Jiewei

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Lucky day

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

Today is Sunday. Today is market day, too.

The market is opened for the used things every Sunday at the corner of Putnam St & Peralta Ave.Uncle Yiwei leads me to there to take a look at.

There are about one hundred of stalls in the triangular square. They sell various sorts and varieties. Like clothes, old desks, cutters, types, bottles and so on. Basically, every household thing can be found in this market.

But as the result of raining, there are only dozens of stalls opening.

纯英文AVATAR(中文名暂译为阿凡达)观影有感

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

但人类J(男猪脚)

Oh, my God!

TMD touching 啦!

A disappointed Christmas

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Being interested in how Americans pass the Christmas, Uncle Yiwei and me go to the Church in downtown. We are told by Aunt Hou that there will supply free Eucharist with turkey for everybody even whom are not followers.

When we arrived there, going  upstair to a hall, an exciting priest is speaking something about Mexico or what loudly. And the audiences give quite positive response.

It’s the first Christmas I spend in the United Stated. Looking forward tonight, is there bustling ceremony?

Uncle Yiwu buys a turkey for  the dinner. The turkey is very big  weight 15/6 lbs. How to cook such the big one? I really don’t know. Aunt takes it to a restaurant to process it. When we eat the processed turkey, all say it is good.

After dinner, Uncle Yiwei and me go for a walk, going to the church for having a look.

Accompany grandma to see the doctor in China town

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Last year , my grandma broke her right arm. She is 80 years old. When a senior gets the bone fracture, it will take a longer time to recover. Although she can move the arm some normally, she can’t raise up the arm over head.

Grandma goes to see the Orthopedic Doctor once a month. Today is the date to do this. Uncle Yiwu drives us to the doctor in China town. The Dr. Kuong looks witty. He likes my glasses and asks for a look. But he doesn’t have the same interest in my grandma wounded arm. He just examines the arm simply and ask few questions. At last, he says it’s OK with the arm, then leave. The nurse comforts grandma that take it easy and take good care.

Washing, saving, library

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

The price of water is too high to conserve it all the time. I bath here  less than in China, but even so the dirty clothes heap quite enough.

Taking advantage of Uncle Yiwu going to the house, I bring my clothes to the basement. Uncle Yiwei teaches me how to use the washing machine and the fired dryer. I pour the clothes into the washing machine and add some washing powder. We then plan to walk to save money and take a visit at the library.
