Something happened today. It makes me want to hit a wall of shame.
To talk about it simply, for hiding the embarrassment, I was cheated of money by the incredible advertisement on FaceBook, which was a common scam here.
The Ad showed a free $250 gas card which seemed easy to get. $250 is a lot of money, I was attracted without any judgment as well as in homeland. I clicked the Ad wanting to get that “benefit”.
It appeared a survey and let me fill some simple information like name, address, phone number and email. Then, it told me to take some “offers” if I wanted to claim the gift. The “offers” classified three: silver, gold and platinum. Each category needed me to take two offers. One offer was selling something in a low price. It also needed my info, besides, my credit card! This is the worst dealing I had done. Finally, I took about four or five offers. I picked up three phone calls short after the offer had been taken. Because of hearing difficulty, I didn’t know what they were saying, just bababa. I considered it would be OK with my $250 gift.
After dinner, I told Michelle the happy gift. She was shocked to hear of the news. She said that was a common scam, and never tried to trust any things on FaceBook. The conman would use my credit card to deduct my money easily and legally. Oh my God! Her talk shocked me back. What should I do to save my money? Steve taught me to report the lose of my credit card, because the number of a new card would change so that the conman cannot use the old info to rob my money.
I asked him to call CitiBank to report the lose of debit card. Three are a few dollars had been taken away. That’s OK, just a little money.

It’s one important lesson for me to realize that America is far from safe. I should wake up my mind entirely.
