Steven shows me a sale news on IKEA today. There is a 3-drawer chest on sale at half prize (the picture below). It’s a great news. The chest is the type exactly what I need. So, we change the golfing plan to go to IEKA for the chest.
As an OTAKU (home boy), I LOVE IKEA! The IKEA Beijing Branch is one of the places I most love to go. It is a sweet moment when I stroll in IKEA. Although I spent over five thousands on many pieces of light furniture and dropped them when I left Beijing, I can’t stop buying new things when I move to a new place.
There are three IKEA shops near San Francisco. We decide to go to the IKEA East Palo Alto, 1700 East.Bayshore Rd. Additionally, Stanford University is in the same city. I wish I could get her offer when I apply for the MBA program.
We go straight to find the chest at the first ground where the warehouse is. Unfortunately, the chest painted in black or white or other colors is sold out. Fortunately, there is one model left, but it is painted in pink. o(╯□╰)o
Considering the magnetic price and the quality, I decide to accept the pink chest. I pay the chest and put it back into the car, then we come back to stroll.
The layout of IEKA here is very alike in Beijing. And the goods are deja-vu, too.
We walk around and have IKEA food. Michelle buys me the meatball and macaroni combination. The food is also alike in Beijing. They just stroll and buy nothing. I buy a red waste bin, a red blanket, a pack of tea-light, three IKEA chocolates, which I did own before. Suddenly, I miss the good old days in Beijing a little.
Leaving IKEA, we go to the fry’s (an electronic mall) and Walmart.
When we come home, it’s 11 o’clock pm. I start assembling the pink chest. Although it is 82 lbs weight, it is still easy to be assembled. I finish the main frame about 12 o’clock pm. According to the guide, I need to driver nails at the back of the chest. However I don’t have a hammer and it’s very night. So I pause to continue the job tomorrow.
