This night, ISA (International Student Association) held a reception for the new arrival international students. There were snacks, drinks and pizza, for free!

There were four big round tables, each could contain 10 people. I sat at the table beside KATHY who was my GRAMMAR classmate from Philippines, the same as Allison, Tom and our grammar professor Philips Carleton (another table sat our lovely Reading & Writing professor Jake). And there was a R&W classmate NOEMIO, a beautiful girl from Swissland. She was preparing for the TOEFL test, because I saw she always brought a thick blue TOEFL book. I wanted to talk with her about the TOEFL preparation, but just could not. –_-!

Around 7:00pm, the chief of the ISA who was a very charming tall boy gave a short speech about the ISA. And the other four persons from the ISA gave a short introduction one by one. After that, it was the free time for the students. We played the Jenga game several times. Then, I went to play Wii games with Tom. He was good at boxing but lost tennis to me.

Enjoying the party satisfactorily, I left and went home at 8pm. When I was sitting on the 31 bus passing some crossroad, there was another 31 bus stopped across the street and flashing the “EMERGENCY”at the front board and “PLEASE CALL 911”at the side board. What was happening? The light in the bus was brightness so that we could see a few people sitting on the bus stilly and nothing strange. I didn’t know what happened. In respect of my poor speaking ability, I didn’t call 911. Wished there was no terrible things.

When I reached home, I talk about KATHY the Philippine with my younger female cousin. She taught me a lot of knowledge about Philippine as she had contacted many people from Philippines. She also taught me one sentence in Tagalog which was the official language as the Mandarin in China.

The sentence is “Silarmer”, which means “Thank you”. I am going to say it to KATHY next grammar class. :D
