I am going to introduce a piece of Drinking Culture in Northeast of China ( including Liao Ning, Ji Lin and Hei Longjiang, three provinces ), exactly, just three points.

First point: At the beginning, when all the guests have come and sat around the table, I  the host, should pick up a glass of liquor to give a shot opening speech. Then I should drink up the liquor without more ado. If any guest did not drink off,  I would wonder if that guy looked down upon me or not.

Second point: During the feast, once the glasses got touch, all the liquor in those glasses should be drunk up. We call it “Gan Bei”, which means the holder of the glass must drink off the liquor.
Third point: In the end, at least one guest should get drunk. Or I the host would be considered not enough fervency.

So, due to I can’t drink a lot, I am very anxious about visiting the Northeast of China.
